CYCLOPS: Scott Summers was the very first mutant recruited into the X-Men, and has been the team's leader on-and-off for years. He is possessed of fiery optic blasts that, in the past, he has had to contain with a special ruby quartz visor. After the death of his mentor, Charles Xavier, and the departure of his wife, Phoenix, to Genosha, he finds himself once again at the head of the X-Men's operations. He has resurrected the more aggressive mission statement that once divided the X-Men - find the enemy before they strike and stop them, no matter what the cost. |

DOMINO: The woman known otherwise as Beatrice has a mutant probability-altering field which allows things to fall into place for her. She was once a member of Cable's mercenary Six Pack, and later joined him in leading X-Force. They shared a brief romance, but it didn't last, and Domino was an on-and-off member of the team until she quit to begin investigating the newly-formed Friends Of Humanity. After helping the X-Men to shut the organization down, she joined their ranks and is presently a member of the team and its co-leader. |

COLOSSUS: Piotr 'Peter' Rasputin was raised on a small farm in Siberia where he discovered his mutant ability to transform his skin into super-strong organic steel. He was recruited into the X-Men by Charles Xavier and was a mainstay of the team for many years until defecting to Magneto's Acolytes. He later reformed his ways and joined Excalibur, only to eventually return to the X-Men. Now, after having served in Russia's Winter Guard for a short while, he's once again returned to the Xavier Institute as a teacher and a member of the X-Men. |

KWANNON: Anna Hong was a burgeoning supermodel in Hong Kong when she became pregnant and fled to America to get out from under her overbearing mother's shadow. For almost two decades, Anna and her son lived a relatively normal life until he was tragically killed in a car crash. The trauma led to the development of Anna's latent mutant ability to channel energy through solid matter, and she was found and recruited by Sinister into the Marauders under the name Chyna. After Sinister's death, she changed her codename to Kwannon and accepted the X-Men's offer to join their ranks. |

EVER: The young man known only as Ever is a telepath and a telekinetic, and his power is amplified by his ever-mutating body, which consists of mostly brain matter. Once a member of the terrorist Gene Nation, Ever later joined Havok in an endeavor to stop the Dark Beast from decimating the human population with a new strain of the Legacy Virus. After being freed from the captivity of the Friends Of Humanity, Ever accepted the X-Men's offer to join their ranks and has stayed with the team since, with the exception of a brief stint with the X-Corporation. |

HUSK: The second in her family to discover their mutant birthright, Paige Guthrie followed in her brother Sam's footsteps by joining Charles Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters after an attempt on her life by the alien Phalanx. Possessing the ability to shed her skin to reveal a new form underneath, Paige took the codename Husk and served as a member of Generation X. She was later killed in an explosion and transported to the afterlife dimension called Wonderland, but managed to return to the land of the living. She has now joined the X-Men, and continues to discover new manifestations of her ever-evolving powers. |

PROTEUS: Peter Valentino is a metamorph who can not only alter his appearance, but the mass and density of his body as well. Since discovering his mutant ability, he has used his powers to enhance his physical appearance and even impersonate other people to keep himself one step ahead of everyone else. Peter was attacked by the Friends Of Humanity, who outed him as a mutant and tried to capture him. The attack was intercepted by two Mutant Underground agents who eventually brought him to the Xavier Institute where he's now a member of the X-Men. |

MASTERMIND: Martinique Jason is the daughter of Jason Wyngarde, the original Mastermind, and shares the same mutant ability to create illusions as her father. Wyngarde raised his daughter in secret for years until he died of the Legacy Virus, and Martinique struck out on her own as a young adult. Taking her father's name, she formed an unholy alliance with Arcade to frame Wolverine for murder, but later realized the error of her ways and reformed. A former a member of Excalibur, she has now joined the ranks of the X-Men in hopes of finding the woman she believes to be her mother - Emma Frost. |

SHIVA: While a detective for the police force in his hometown of Calcutta, India, Neal discovered that he was a mutant with the ability to generate incredible amounts of solar heat and plasma. He was disowned by his entire family after they learned he was a mutant, and old family friend Moira MacTaggert took him in to help him learn to control his powers. He became head of security at her Skye Isle research facility for a time until it was attacked by the madman Spoor. Moira perished in the attack, and with nowhere else to go, Neal accepted an invitation to come live at the Xavier Institute. |

BEAST: Henry McCoy is a brilliant geneticist possessed of enhanced strength, agility, and dexterity. One of the original X-Men, Beast was covered in blue fur after an experiment on himself went awry. He has for the most part been a mainstay of the team, with the exception of stints with X-Factor and the Avengers. After the Legacy Virus was cured, Beast became the X-Men's leader for a short time and eventually married teammate Cecilia Reyes. He has now gone on reserve status, preferring to focus his attention on his students as headmaster of the Xavier Institute. |

CECILIA REYES: Once an E.R. doctor in the Bronx, Cecilia's life was changed forever when the Prime Sentinels attacked and exposed her as a mutant with the ability to wield psioplasmic energy. Upon joining the X-Men for the second time, she subsequently fell in love with the Beast, to whom she is now married; it was also Cecilia's unexpected expertise that helped finally discover the cure to the Legacy Virus. She currently works at New York University Medical Center while also serving as a teacher at the Xavier Institute and reserve member of the X-Men. |

ASTRID BLOOM: Not much is known about Astrid, save for the fact that she is an incredibly powerful telepath and a brilliant psychologist. She was in New York City for a medical conference when she was contacted by her old friend Henry McCoy to help rescue the X-Men. After aiding the team in defeating the Brotherhood of Mutants, she was offered permanent residency at the Xavier Institute and is a reserve member of the X-Men. However, unbeknownst to her new teammates, Astrid has an unnerving secret - membership with the Los Angeles branch of their longtime adversaries, the Hellfire Club. |
